We are going to jump on this line nice and early this morning with the hopes of getting good closing line value. We just saw this exact same pitching matchup a week ago on April 1st. Mariners starter Logan Gilbert lost to the Guardians in that start, but he pitched very well. Gilbert threw 6 innings, allowing just 1 earned run on 4 hits. The lone earned run was off of a solo home run. Outside of that one pitch, Gilbert was fantastic. Guardians starter Aaron Civale also pitched well in that game. He tossed 7 scoreless innings, allowing 0 earned runs and just 2 hits. It is worth noting, Civale only recorded 3 strikeouts. There are pitchers who effectively pitch to contact, but our concern is that Aaron Civale’s career numbers suggest he is not one of them. We expect more balls to find the gaps tonight for the Mariners. Our wager is a half unit on the road dogs to win.
