It is worth noting, Merrill Kelly had a terrible track record against the Dodgers last season. He went 0-5 against them with an ERA north of 8. Given that stat, many may read this write up and elect to go with the Dodgers tonight. That is not the case for us. The Diamondbacks just faced Dodgers starter Dustin May a week ago (same pitching matchup as today). Dustin May pitched well in that game (7 innings, 3 hits, 0 earned runs). However, his strikeout rate was down. The Diamondbacks had a lot of hard hit balls that unfortunately just did not find the gaps. We will look for the Diamondbacks offense to have a bit more success against Dustin May tonight. We will take the +1.5 cushion with the Diamondbacks in their home opener.
