Heat vs. Celtics 8:30pm
(Game 3 Heat Lead Series 2-0)
Celtics -3 (-110)
A few notes to consider here. First, the Boston Celtics have been a phenomenal road team this season/postseason (29-18). Through the first two series of the playoffs, Boston won two road games in Atlanta, and two in Philly. A must win road game is far from unfamiliar territory for the Celtics group. These two teams rank extremely close in overall net rating, and they’ve had two highly competitive games so far. The key metric that we focus on with Boston is their three point shooting. The Celtics get nearly 40% of their total points from beyond the arc. Knocking down three point shots directly correlates to winning games for this Celtics team. In game 1 the Celtics shot just 34% from three point range (10/29). In game 2 Boston shot 28% from the perimeter (10/35). In the larger sample size of the season/postseason, the Celtics shoot three’s at roughly a 38% mark. This postseason the Celtics are actually shooting better on the road from three point range (40.6%) than they are at home (37%). We anticipate an improved three point shooting performance, and a strong defensive effort from Boston tonight. We will lay the 3 points with the Celtics.
