Diamondbacks vs. Phillies 8:07pm
(Phillies lead series 2-1)
Phillies Moneyline (-132)
The Phillies offense came back down to earth yesterday in Arizona. The Diamondbacks were able to edge out a 2-1 win in game 3. Today we are betting on the Phillies for many of the same reasons that we’ve backed them through the first 3 games. Even with a poor offensive performance yesterday, the Phillies still lead all remaining postseason teams in OPS, slugging percentage, batting average, and home runs. The Phillies bullpen has a 1.63 ERA throughout the playoffs, with Arizona’s bullpen holding a 3.41 ERA. Both teams have their #4 options going today. Philadelphia will start Cristopher Sanchez, who has pitched well for them. Sanchez had two starts in September where he recorded 10 strikeouts (against the Braves & Mets). He holds a 2.08 ERA in 26 innings pitched on the road in 2023. It is worth noting that Sanchez has never appeared in a postseason game before. Arizona will go with an opener (Joe Mantiply), and then follow that up with a bullpen game. We are going to side with the Phillies who have the more experienced group, and the better offense. Our wager is on the moneyline.
