Best Bets For Friday's College Basketball Slate

You may have heard a few Best Bets for College Basketball on today's episode of Wake Up and Wager, but there are a few more to discuss.
Coppin State @ Cornell 7:00pm Under 155.5 (-110)
Make sure you're able to get the best number available here. My model shows that we have a significant edge, with a total of 149. Coppin State is 3-7 to the under L10. Coppin State is actually an extremely sound defensive team based on my efficiency numbers, and have trouble scoring the ball. They actually rank inside the top 50 teams in the country in pace. All of this to say, this game should be lower scoring than you might expect. Cornell ranks a surprisingly 39th in offensive efficiency, however Coppin State will hold up defensively. Don't play any lower than 154.5.
Charleston Cougars @ Furman Paladins 7:00pm Under 158.5 (-110)
This is another play heavily emphasized by the model and our projections. I have this game to go under by 8 points. It's highly based on these teams pace ratings. Furman, while having a fantastic offense, are an extremely slow paced team. Meanwhile, the Charleston Cougars don't get much right. They're a pretty poor team. However, Charleston has been improving over the last few games. I do believe Furman will ultimately win this game, but it'll be a tight, low scoring affair based on pace ratings.
Pitt Panthers @ UVA 8:00pm Over 113.5 (-110)
I know, this over seems a bit counter-intuitive. UVA is always known to have a slow pace, great defense, and so-on. However, sometimes these general market bias' can work in your favor, as the number is almost always shaded too low to combat market perception. This Pitt Panthers team is quite poor. I'm expecting UVA to dominate tonight. With that being said, I have UVA projected to score 80 points by themselves, based on Pitt's poor defensive efficiency numbers. Pitt has always had a 'decent' offensive attack and, while it will be tough skiing for them tonight, my numbers suggest they'll be a bit more effective. We'll go over the total of 113.5 tonight.
