Orioles @ Yankees 7:05pm
Orioles Moneyline (+120)
Tyler Wells as a (+120) underdog? Sign us up! The Orioles righty leads the MLB in WHIP (0.79), and ranks 2nd in the majors behind only Shohei Ohtani in batting average against (.168). Yankees starter Nestor Cortes has regressed significantly from last season. His ERA currently sits at 5.21, compared to a 2.44 ERA in 2022. Cortes is averaging nearly 3 more hits per 9 innings this season. He’s also allowing more home runs, walks, and his strikeout rate is down. It's also worth noting that Nestor Cortes is a lefty, and the Orioles have hit left handed pitching very well this season. Baltimore ranks within the top 8 in most key hitting metrics versus lefties (OBP, SLG, OPS). The Yankees offense ranks in the bottom half of the league against right handed pitching. Both the Yankees and Orioles have good bullpens. In what looks to be a true 50-50 matchup, we will gladly take the (+120) price with the road divisional dogs. Orioles moneyline is our bet.
