Astros vs. Phillies 8:03pm
(World Series Game 2)
Phillies Lead Series 1-0
Phillies F5 Innings +0.5 (-122)
We are going right back to well with this bet tonight. It wasn't looking good early in yesterday's game, but our ticket ended up cashing. We like this bet for many of the same reasons we liked it yesterday. The Astros have an edge in the bullpen department, so this bet cuts the later innings out of the game. The starting pitching matchup between Wheeler and Valdez is neck and neck. Zack Wheeler did not face the Astros this season, but he has been fantastic down the stretch for the Phillies. He's pitched 4 games this postseason and has a 1.78 ERA in 25.1 innings. The Phillies are 3-1 in the games Wheeler has started this postseason. Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez has also been pitching very well in the playoffs. However, it's worth noting that Valdez was struggling in the month of September. He got rocked in several starts throughout the month and did not look sharp. Valdez turned it around against the Phillies in his final start before the postseason. He threw 5 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts. It should benefit the Phillies that they are a bit more familiar with Framber Valdez this time around. Our bet is on the Phillies runline through the first 5 innings. For this ticket cash, the Phillies must either be tied or winning by the end of the 5th inning.
