Tonight is the first ever NBA In Season Tournament Championship. The explosive Pacers offense is taking on LeBron James and the stout Lakers defense. The Pacers rank 1st in the NBA in pace and offensive efficiency. As impressive as the Pacers' step forward has been offensively, they take little pride in their defense. Indiana ranks 28th in the league defensively. The Lakers have a lot of talented defenders, who should be able to slow the Pacers offense down a bit tonight. Veterans LeBron James & Anthony Davis have seen plenty of fast paced offenses like the Pacers. It would be surprising to see the Pacers run away with this one. Some may argue that the motivation factor will favor the young Pacers roster, given the financial bonuses with a win. However, both teams should be highly motivated to ink their names in history as the first ever In Season Tournament Champions. We will lay the -4 points behind the Lakers. We considered doubling up with an under bet. Our concern is that if the game goes the Pacers way, it will likely mean the Lakers defense didn’t hold up as we thought it would. This could result in another high scoring Pacers affair. We will stick with the half unit wager on the Lakers -4.
