SteadyPicks Best Bet For Thursday Night Football
Chiefs vs. Chargers 8:15pm
Chiefs -4 (-110)
The Kansas City Chiefs offense looked about as good as an offense can look in week 1. Patrick Mahomes completed over 75% of his passes, threw for 5 touchdowns, was not sacked, and posted a near perfect passer rating. The Chiefs offense also averaged nearly 5 yards a carry on the ground. The bigger storyline for us with the Chiefs was what their defense did. They held Kyler Murray under 200 passing yards, and James Conner averaged under 3 yards per carry. The Chargers will be without Keenan Allen tonight, and JC Jackson is a game time decision. Justin Herbert looked phenomenal in week 1. However, the Chargers run game averaged just 2.4 yards per carry which was dead last in the NFL in week 1. Arrowhead Stadium is one of the few true home field advantages in the NFL. Playing in Arrowhead on a short week in the Chiefs home opener is a tough task for any team. We will look for the Chiefs to keep their offense rolling, and for this team to make a statement against their division rivals tonight. We will lay the 4 points with the Chiefs for one unit.
