Phillies vs. Diamondbacks 8:07pm
(Series Tied 3-3)
Phillies Moneyline (-170)
MLB fans are in for a treat tonight with another exciting game 7. Let’s start by digging into the starting pitching matchup. The Diamondbacks will start rookie Brandon Pfaadt, who just turned 25 a little over a week ago. Pfaadt pitched phenomenal in game 3 of this series. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 earned runs, and recording 9 strikeouts. Game 3 was in Arizona, so the rookie had the home crowd behind him. That will not be the case in Philadelphia tonight. Pfaadt will pitch in about as hostile of an environment as it can get in baseball. In Pfaadt’s lone road start this postseason, he lasted just 2.2 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 earned runs against the Brewers. During the regular season, Pfaadt went 1-4 with a 5.04 ERA away from Arizona. The Phillies will start Ranger Suarez, who has allowed just 1 earned run in his 3 postseason starts (14 innings). Suarez did struggle a bit in Philly during the regular season, but part of those struggles were due to ongoing injuries. He’s finally healthy, and Suarez is in good form heading into tonight's game. Ranger Suarez is a lefty, and the Diamondbacks have struggled hitting left handed pitching. Arizona is hitting .229 against lefties in the postseason, and they ranked bottom 10 in the MLB in OPS against lefties during the regular season. The Phillies did not use their best relief pitchers yesterday. They will have fresh arms out of their bullpen tonight. Offensively, we see a significant edge for Philadelphia. Despite struggling yesterday, the Phillies offense leads all playoff teams in OPS (.840) and slugging percentage (.501). While anything can happen in a game 7, we feel comfortable upping our wager a bit on a team who our numbers suggest is better in nearly every facet of the game. The Phillies on the moneyline for 2 units is our bet. Always gamble responsibly!
