This will be Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan’s first start since June 30th. The lefty McClanahan was dealing with some back issues, but seems to be healthy enough to get back into the Rays rotation. McClanhan’s velocity and strikeout rate were both dipping in June, so it will be interesting to monitor those two aspects tonight. The Rangers are a tough opponent to return to action against. Texas hits left handed pitching extremely well, they rank 2nd in MLB in OPS versus lefties. The Rangers will start Dane Dunning, who is 8-2 with a 2.84 ERA this season. At home specifically, Dunning is 5-0 with a 2.89 ERA. In what looks to be very close to a 50-50 matchup, we will take the +110 price with the home underdogs.
