The Rays are off to an outstanding 8-0 start to the season. The Rays have won all 8 of these games by 4 runs or more. While the streak is impressive, it’s not sustainable. Getting 2.5 runs at nearly a pick em price certainly correlates with the Rays hot streak. Athletics starter James Kaprielian struggled against the Guardians in his first start of the season. However, it is worth noting Kaprielian pitched well in spring training. Rays starter Drew Rasmussen allowed just 2 hits in 6 innings against the Nationals in his first start. The Nationals offense isn’t very good, so take those numbers with a slight grain of salt. The over/under total is set relatively low at 7.5 today. It’s even more surprising to get this (-120) price with 2.5 runs given that low total. Our wager is a half unit on the Athletics +2.5.
