Over the first 3 games of the season, the Diamondbacks have yet to score over 2 runs. That being said, the Dodgers rolled out three very good starting pitchers in Clayton Kershaw, Dustin May, and Julio Urias. Today’s starter Noah Syndergaard should be a much easier task for the Diamondbacks offense. Some may remember Noah Syndergaard as an elite pitcher during his time with the Mets. However, Syndergaard’s numbers have fallen drastically from where they were from 2015-2018. In addition to his stats dipping, so has his velocity and spin rates. This spring training Syndergaard was hit hard. He gave up 12 earned runs on 19 hits in roughly 18 innings. For this bet to cash, we have the entire game to get just 4 runs. There are several paths to victory for this ticket outside of getting these runs on Syndergaard. It's possible the Dodgers could have a big lead (or be down big) and opt to throw the less productive pitchers in their bullpen. That scenario would increase scoring opportunities later in the game for the Diamondbacks. We will take the plus money and bet the over 3.5 runs for the Diamondbacks team total.
