Here we have two talented young lefties in David Peterson and Jesus Luzardo. A couple notes regarding each of these pitchers. Marlins starter Jesus Luzardo struggled in his two starts against the Mets last season (7 earned runs in 9.1 innings pitched). Luzardo also struggled pitching at home in Miami. In 8 home starts, he went 2-5 with a 4.25 ERA. Away from Miami, Jesus Luzardo posted an impressive 2.64 ERA. Mets starter David Peterson had a fantastic spring training, and he is very familiar with the Marlins. Peterson threw 18 innings against Miami last season, recording 23 strikeouts with a 2.50 ERA. The Mets have had bad luck with injuries to start the season. However, they have a great opportunity today to start the season off with a 2-0 record. We will roll with a small half unit bet on the Mets to win the game.
