Diamondbacks @ Marlins 1:40pm
Diamondbacks Moneyline (+116)
This matchup features two of the best starting pitchers in the National League. Last year's NL Cy Young award winner (Sandy Alcantara) has been a bit inconsistent early in the season. He struggled with his command in his first start against the Mets (walked 4 hitters in 5.2 innings). Alcantara followed that up with a gem in his 2nd start (9 inning shutout). In his last start, the Phillies rocked Alcantara. He allowed 10 hits and 9 earned runs in just 4 innings. Diamondbacks starter Zac Gallen struggled a bit in his first two starts. However, in his most recent start Zac Gallen looked every bit the part of a potential Cy Young candidate. He pitched 7 shutout innings against a hot Brewers offense, and stuck out 11 hitters. We like Gallen’s current form a bit more heading into this game. Our model suggests the Diamondbacks hold the slightly better offense and bullpen. We will take the plus money on the road team.
