Celtics @ Hawks 8:30pm
(Game 6 Celtics Lead Series 3-2)
Celtics -6.5 (-110)
Most NBA fans did not anticipate a game 6 in this series, but here we are for game 6 in Atlanta. The Hawks came back from a double digit 4th quarter deficit in game 5, largely due to a tremendous three point shooting night. The Hawks shot 46% from beyond the arc (19/41), while the Celtics could not get it going from downtown (31% from three point range). It’s worth noting, in the Hawks lone win in Atlanta (game 3), they won the rebounding battle by an extremely wide margin 48-26. In game 4, the Celtics made adjustments in the paint and out rebounded the Hawks 49-42. The Celtics continued that trend in game 5, winning on the glass again (43-34). We anticipate the Celtics to continue to limit the Hawks rebounding edge here in game 6. Boston's shooting metrics should improve closer to their season averages tonight. It would be surprising to see the Hawks shoot around 50% from beyond the arc again. We expect some regression for Atlanta. The Celtics are the only team in the NBA that ranks top 3 in adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency. Boston has also been very good on the road this season (26-17 including playoffs). We will lay the 6.5 points with the better overall team.
