3 College Basketball Bets To Consider On 11/16/22
Michigan vs. Pittsburgh 6:00pm
Michigan -8 (-110)
Our numbers suggest Michigan should be a double digit favorite here, so we’re going to go ahead and lay 1 unit on this bet. This matchup kicks off the Legends Classic in Brooklyn, NY. Therefore, no true home court advantage. Stopping Michigan big man Hunter Dickinson will be the big question mark here for Pittsburgh. Expect a big game from him, and look for the Wolverines to dominate the paint in this matchup. Our bet is on Michigan to win by north of 8 points tonight in Brooklyn.
East Carolina vs. Hampton 7:00pm
East Carolina -9.5 (-110)
Laying just shy of 10 points against a Hampton squad that gave up 100+ points to their only Division 1 opponent? Sign us up. James Madison defeated Hampton by 48 just a week ago and we could see a similar outcome here. According to KenPom, Hampton is ranked towards the bottom of Division 1 basketball in both adjusted offensive efficiency and adjusted defensive efficiency. No need to sugar coat this one, Hampton should be outmatched by a significant margin.
Detroit Mercy vs. Ohio 7:00pm
Detroit Mercy +2 (-105)
This matchup features two very different roster constructions, which tends to play a big role early in the season. Ohio comes into this season having lost their top 3 scorers from just a year ago. On the Detroit Mercy side, there is some familiarity with their leading scorer Antoine Davis returning. We considered taking Detroit Mercy on the moneyline, but we will opt to take the 2 points instead.
