2 College Hoops Bets To Consider On 11/7/2022
St. Bonaventure vs. St. Francis 7:00pm
St. Bonaventure -12.5 (-110)
St. Bonaventure is yet another college program seeing some roster turnover. Coach Mark Schmidt has revamped this program into a strong mid major year in and year out. Look for Saint Peter’s transfer Daryl Banks III to lead the way offensively this season for the Bonnies. KenPom currently ranks St. Bonaventure 119th compared to St. Francis being 318th. While the KenPom rankings partially reflect last season's data, our numbers suggest St. Bonaventure has quite an edge in this matchup to start the 22/23 season.
Chattanooga @ Charleston 7:30pm
Chattanooga +3 (-108)
This Chattanooga program is one year removed from a So Con conference championship and a NCAA tournament berth. However, there are several new faces for the Mocs in the 2022/23 season. Chattanooga’s leading scorer Malachi Smith (19.9 PPG) took to the transfer portal and ended up at Gonzaga. The numbers still suggest that the wrong team is favored in this matchup. While the College of Charleston may show progress this year, it will not come in the opening game. It will be Dan Earl’s first year at the helm for the Mocs coming from VMI, and he brings with him their leading scorer from a year ago. Look for big man Jake Stephens to have a great season in his first year at Chattanooga and help the Mocs cover this short spread tonight.
